In a nutshell

Posted by Sue Prince on April 2, 2008 11:55 AM |

I was at a public health conference in Liverpool yesterday and came across an exhibition promoting the health benefits of macadamia nuts.

These insignificant-looking little things are said to lower raised cholesterol, reduce the risk factors associated with coronary heart disease and protect against high blood pressure. So, I accepted a free packet and nibbled away on the contents knowing that they were going to do me some good (I usually like my nuts smothered in chocolate).

They tasted rather good so today I went to buy some in my local store and nearly choked on the price - £2.49 a packet! I was advised that, like most things in life, these nuts should be taken in moderation. At that price I don’t need much persuading.

So, if you know where you can buy these little health gems a bit cheaper please let me know.
